A light parade, city tree lighting and Santa Claus fly-in are all set for tonight in Twentynine Palms.
The Twentynine Palms Kiwanis, Rotary, and Soroptimist clubs will partner with the City of Twentynine Palms in kicking off the holiday season tonight with the free events starting at 5:30 p.m. The Rotary Club light parade on Adobe Road begins at 5:30 at Joshua Lane and goes north, passing City Hall and ending at Sun Valley Drive. After the parade, some entries will be on display at City Hall Park. At 6:25 p.m. the tree will be lit and Mayor McArthur Wright will welcome attendees. Knottās Sky Park pre-school and area churches will provide music, and the service clubs will serve hot cocoa and holiday goodies. At 6:30 p.m., Santa Claus will fly in from the North Pole and touch down via helicopter on Adobe Road right in front of City Hall. Santa will stay for photos, finally lifting off and heading due north at 7:30 p.m.
