TWENTYNINE PALMS LANDLORD THREATENS TO KILL TENANT AND HER CATS

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Monday after he threatened to kill a woman who rents a room from him. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 4500 block of Desert Flower Avenue in Twentynine Palms just after midnight for a report that Rickie Thomas, 56, had threatened to kill the woman and her cats. The woman knew that Thomas had multiple guns and knives in his home, and, fearing for her life, she locked herself in her vehicle until deputies arrived. Thomas resisted arrest, but deputies were able to handcuff him after a brief struggle. Rickie Thomas was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
