Twentynine Palms Ladycats Volleyball hosted Indio for a night of hard-fought matches

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team hosted the Rajahs of Indio High School last night and came up short for the win. 

In Junior Varsity action the Cats lost 23-25 and 16-25. Lily Romero Gonzalez was huge at the net with 9 kills, had 2 ace serves and played solid defense.

Emma Avalos served up 4 aces and had 1 assist. Shannon Flin had 1 kill and 4 ace serves. Madison Critchfield had 2 kills. Hailey Stephenson had 10 assists for the night.

The Varsity Cats started off slow in the first set losing 9-25. The second set started off stronger and finished with a 25-22 win. The third set, the Ladycats lost steam and lost 7-25. The fourth start was going back and forth, and while the cats fought hard, they lost 19-25. Sophomore Seniyah Hawkins played hard with 4 kills, 3 ace serves, 3 digs, 6 assists, and 10 touches for the night. Senior Jenica Silvas put down 4 kills, had 2 aces, 1 block, 7 assists and solid defense with 15 digs.

Freshman Eva Tili was big at the net with 2 kills, 2 blocks, 12 touches and served up one ace. Sophomore Vivian Grunt put down 2 kills, served up 4 aces, and had 8 digs. Senior Jayde James had one kill, 1 block and 11 touches. Senior Violet Tucker was also big at the net with 4 kills, 1 block and had 2 digs. Junior Cambria Schneider had one kill and 8 digs and junior Haylie Rodriguez had 6 digs. The ‘cats are now 0-2 in league.

The Twentynine Palms Ladycats will host the Trojans of Yucca Valley on Monday. Come out to support our local high school volleyball teams.
