Twentynine Palms Ladycats Volleyball beat Big Bear

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball teams beat the bears of Big Bear High School in an exciting match up Monday night (September 8).
Junior Varsity won in two sets; 25-10 and 25-13. Arabella Staggs had one block, one ace and five kills. Alexis Archuleta had one ace, two assists and four kills. Tallulah Coleman was big at the net with two blocks and three kills. Chessa Robinson had one kill, three ace serves and 11 assists. Camber Brown had one kill and three ace serves. Emma Avalos had two kills.
Varsity won in five exciting point by point sets. Cats lost the first game 17-25, close second and third with the score 26-24 and then 24-26. Took the fourth set 25-18 and won the fifth set 15-13. Sophomore Eva Tili was big at the net putting down nine kills, five blocks, and two kills. Senior Violet Graham was also big at the net with five blocks, four kills, and served up two ace serves. Freshman Jada Nelson had three kills and two aces. Junior Vivian Grunt served three aces and solid defense. Sophomore Sabrina Graham had one block and two kills. Junior Berlyn McCormick had two kills and one ace. Senior Cambria Schneider had one ace, one kill and seven assists. Freshman Lyric Black had one ace, five assists and a diving play that helped secure the win for the cats. Junior Lily Romero Gonzalez had two assists and strong defense.
The Ladycats are now 5-6 overall and take on the Eagles of Desert Hot Springs this Thursday (September 11).
