TWENTYNINE PALMS JUVENILE CAUGHT STEALING MAIL

A Twentynine Palms juvenile was arrested Monday afternoon, accused of stealing mail from mailboxes. According to Sheriff’s reports, a resident in the 74300 block of Cottonwood Drive saw a boy throw mail on the ground about 12:30 p.m. The resident noticed that several mailboxes on the street had been opened. The boy then left on foot toward Mara Avenue and Maricopa Drive. Deputies found a boy, whose name or age were not released, with mail and a check that didn’t belong to him. The boy also had an unspecified warrant for his arrest. The boy was arrested on suspicion of mail theft, and taken to the Morongo Basin Jail for his warrant.
