TWENTYNINE PALMS JUNIOR HIGH ROBOTICS TEAM PLACE WELL COMPETITION

The Twentynine Palms Junior High School Robotics Club, the SteamCats, competed in the California High Desert Vex Middle School finals Saturday. The SteamCats were ranked 12th out of 40 teams going in to the competition. In the tournament, the team joined together with another team to lift objects and throw them over a fence into the other side of the ring, while an opposing alliance team tries to do the same thing. The team sailed through the quarter-final round, but experienced technical difficulties in the semi-final round. The SteamCats received the Energy Award for their efforts. The SteamCats will display their skills at the school district’s science fair February 22 at Twentynine Palms Junior High, along with the robotics team from Twentynine Palms High School.
