TWENTYNINE PALMS IS SHUT OUT IN PLAY-OFF GAME AGAINST APPLE VALLEY

The Twentynine Palms High School varsity football team lost Thursday’s away playoff game against Apple Valley by a score of 75-0.

The Apple Valley Sun Devils scored 27 points in the first quarter, 27 points in the second quarter, 14 points in the third quarter, and 7 points in the fourth quarter.

Two of Apple Valley’s touchdowns were scored by the its defensive team: a 50-yard interception return and a 20-yard run following a fumble recovery. Wildcats quarterback D’Shaun Barrett was held to 32 yards rushing and was only 9-for-26 yards passing, with only 29 yards total. The Twentynine Palms Wildcats gained only 51 yards in the entire game; Apple Valley had 426 yards. This game was part of the 2017 CIF Southern Section High School Football Playoff Brackets – Division 10 tournament.
