Several quick storms this month caused major headaches for Twentynine Palms residents, leading to flooding and road closures throughout the city.

On Thursday (August 1), the City of Twentynine Palms and Reach Out Morongo Basin will be holding a Local Assistance Day.

Attendees will be able to get information and resources from Morongo Basin Healthcare District – Community and Behavioral Health, 29 Palms Community Food Pantry, Dept. of Aging and Adult Services – Senior Information and Assistance, Adult Protective Services and Agewise, Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), Red Cross, FIND Food Bank and The Lobby@Desert Beacon.

There will be information, instructional videos, food and water, sandbags, cleaning supplies and more available for local residents affected by flooding.

The event is Thursday (8/1) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Twentynine Palms Senior Center, located at 6539 Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.

If you are living in a home in the area impacted by floods and do not have transportation, you can call Reach Out Morongo Basin for a ride. Their number is 760-361-1410
