TWENTYNINE PALMS HOME EXPLODES; DRUGS SUSPECTED

Suspected drugs inside a refrigerator at a Twentynine Palms mobile home blew up yesterday, completely destroying the home. About 8:25 p.m., Twentynine Palms firefighters were called to the Desert Oasis Mobile Home Park, in the 72200 block of Joshua Drive, for an explosion. The explosion blew out the windows and doors of the home, and separated the roof from the walls. The source of the explosion came from a refrigerator, inside which firefighters found what appeared to be drugs. The Sheriff’s Department Bomb and Arson squad were called in to investigate. The resident was not at home at the time of the explosion, but she returned when firefighters were there and denied that she had drugs inside the fridge. There were no injuries.
