The Twentynine Palms Historical Society elected one new board member and re-elected two members. Kim Krushat will replace outgoing director Mari Collier, and Nolan Lockwood and John Steiner were re-elected at the Society’s meeting November 18. President Les Snodgrass gave an update on the expansion project, which will add a 2200-square foot building on the Old Schoolhouse Museum grounds. The building will include a 1,500-square foot multi-purpose room with seating for 200 people, a catering kitchen and pantry, restrooms, and storage rooms. The Society is just waiting for the City of Twentynine Palms to approve the required permits. Snodgrass said the Society has raised $140,000 for the addition.
