Caltrans: Repairs on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms should be completed this week

Twentynine Palms residents who have been navigating around K-rail barriers on the highway just East of Stater brothers for a year will soon see the roadway open.

Severe flooding severely damaged the bridge over the wash in the area about a year ago. John Moore of Griffith Construction said the long delay in making repairs was caused by challenges with permitting and utilities in the area.

Caltrans Inspector Anthony Hernandez told Z107.7 News that the highway is expected to reopen next week. He said the K-Rail on the Westbound lanes are scheduled to be removed Thursday, October 15 with the Eastbound lanes opening shortly after.
