The Twentynine Palms High School varsity Ladycat volleyball team hosted a home game with the Cathedral City Lions Tuesday (September 7). The Ladycat junior varsity team won in 3 sets ; 21-25, 25-13, and 15-5. The Ladycats varsity squad also beat the lions in 3 sets: 25-19, 25-19, and 25-13. The Ladycats are now 1-0 in league and travel to Coachella Valley Monday (September 13).
Carolyn Morning had one kill. Jadyn Bauer had one assist and one kill. Destiny Cisneros served up three ace serves. Lindie Stewart served up five ace serves. Tui Young had two kills and five ace serves. Shakinah Dowell had one kill, and six ace serves. Jenica Silvas served up four ace serves and had three assists. Anisia Rios played solid defense for the cats.
Senior Kaelina Palpallatoc had 4 ace serves and 15 assists. Junior Gabby Wunderlee had 4 kills and served up 2 aces. Senior Leah Engesser had 4 kills and one huge solo block. Sophomore Kyla Palpallatoc had 4 kills, 1 ace, and 1 solo block. Senior Mya Chacon had 3 kills, 1 ace serve, and played solid defense. Senior Hailee Jenkins had 1 back row attack, 2 ace serves, and defended the court all night. Gianna Bilderain had one ace and Itzel Solorio had one kill and both played solid defense.
