TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL TRACK TEAM TRAVELLED TO YORBA LINDA

The Twentynine Palms High School track and field team traveled to Orange County to compete in the Yorba Linda Invitational. Six personal records and school records were set at the meet. 

Top performers for the boys were:
Jonathan Carson 
Bronze, 100m , 11.51
Gold, 200m, 22.63 a personal record

Tucker Thornburg
Silver, 1600m, 4:42.19, a personal record
Bronze, 3200m, 10:40.68

Adam Mapuatuli
Gold, Shot Put, 49’2.25, a personal record
Gold, Discus, 139’0

The girls were led by:

Shaniah Newby
Silver, 100m, 12.64, rebreaking her own school record
Gold, 200m, 26.2

Amanda Mohn
Gold, Shot Put, 33’0, a personal record
Bronze, Discus, 95’4, a personal record

Mallory Hutchinson
Gold, High Jump, 4’8
Silver, Long Jump, 14’8.5
Silver, Triple Jump, 31’10 a personal record

Mallory Hutchinson and Tucker Thornburg were named Wildcats of the Week for their performances at Desert Hot Springs and Yorba Linda.

On Wednesday the team will host Banning High School and Indio High School in the final home contest of the season, and say “thank you” to the seniors.
