TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS PLACES THIRD IN LEAGUE

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity tennis team traveled to the Indian Well Tennis Gardens Thursday and Friday for De Anza League individual finals. Coach Bill Shay said the Wildcats finished the regular season 6-4, and placed third in the league, giving them a playoff berth. The Wildcats were led by Raul Hernandez, with Manny Rodriguez placing third in the main tournament, giving them a Wildcard berth for CIF. John Lanza placed fourth in singles action. In doubles action, Colby Thomas and Ben Pressnall placed second in the alternate tournament, and Justin Perez placed second for singles in the alternate tournament. The Wildcats will play a playoff game sometime this week.
