TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL SWIM GOES TWO YEARS AS DEANZA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

LINDSEY SCAMMAN BREAKS THE BREASTSTROKE RECORD AND WILL BE GOING TO CIF

The Twentynine Palms High School swim team went to the DeAnza League meet in Desert Hot Springs yesterday as the undefeated champions for two years in a row. Lindsey Scamman is the MVP for De Anza League swimming; she was a power house, breaking Kelly Ostrander’s record set in 2012 in the breaststroke with a time of 1:16.23 and obtained a CIF time.

The girls’ 200-yard medley relay team of Taylor Scamman, Kaliegh Abrams, Jacqueline Ford and Lindsey Scamman received their CIF time of 2:10.41.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Kaliegh Abrams, Taylor Scamman, Teagan Tompson and Lindsey Scamman also swam CIF time of 1:52.03.

Taylor Scamman established her CIF time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.22. The girls’ 400-yard freestyle set their CIF with the team of Teagan Thompson, Jacqueline Ford, Lea Speer and Kiara Oshana with a time of 4:34.21.

The boys were able to get CIF times too. Brian Soster swam his CIF time in the 50-yard free style with a time of 23.88.

The boys’ 200-yard free style relay of Josiah Henderson, Colton Charles, Kyle Bobadilla and Brian Soster also received their CIF time of 1:45.69.

The Lady Cats lowered times in 15 events and the men lowered times in 19 events.
