The Twentynine Palms High School swim team reset three CIF times and split the win with Yucca Valley High School at the swim Battle of the Bell at home Thursday (May 13). The Wildcats ladies lost 59 to 88 and the men won 86 to 40. Wildcats swam hard and kept the Battle of the Bell, which they first won on May 12, 2016.
The Lady Cats won four first place finishes, five second, three thirdand two fourth places finishes.
Placing first in the following events:
– 50 and 100 yard Free Style was Patricia Zuniga.
– 200 yard Free Relay Team: Izzy Pryor, Destiny Cisneros, Nadia Moreno, and Patricia Zuniga.
– Izzy Pryor in the100 yard Breast Stroke.
Placing second was:
– Nadia Moreno who swam the 200 yard Free Style Personal Best (PB) and dropped 13 seconds.
– Izzy Pryor in the 100 yard Butterfly (swam a PB).
– Destiny Cisneros in 500 yard Free Style (PB and dropped 25 seconds).
– Virginia Johnson in the 100 yard Back Stroke (swam a PB).
– 400 yard Free Relay Team: Izzy Pryor, Destiny Cisneros, Nadia Moreno and Patricia Zuniga.
Placing third was:
– Virginia Johnson in the 200 yard Free Style.
– Destiny Cisneros in the 200 yard Individual Medley.
– Nadia Moreno who swam the 100 yard Back Stroke.
Placing fourth was:
– Anna Pollnow swam the 50 yard and 100 yard Free Style.
The men added lowered two CIF times and reset a CIF time while resetting a high school record. The men won nine 1st place races, five 2nd, and two 3rd place finishes.
– CIF time lowered for the 200 yard medley relay team of: Daviahn Thrasher, Colton Charles, Aiden Sullivan, and George Bourikas.
– Colton Charles finished with a Personal Best (PB) and lowered his CIF time in both the 200 yard Free Style and 100 yard Butterfly, resetting his Butterfly record for the third time.
Other 1st place finishers were:
– Daviahn Thrasher in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 yard Back Stroke.
– Aiden Sullivan in the 50 and 100 yard Free Style.
– 200 yard Free Style team of Colton Charles, Daviahn Thrasher, George Bourikas, and Aiden Sullivan.
– 400 yard Free Relay team of Micah Pollnow, Tavious Thrasher, Moses Williams, and George Bourikas.
2nd place were:
– Tavious Thrasher in the 200 yard Free Style.
– Micah Pollnow in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 yard Breast Stroke.
