TPHS STUDENTS COLLECT HOLIDAY FOOD FOR 250 FAMILIES

For many families, putting food on the table is a daily struggle that is especially painful during the holidays. To address that need, the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club is hosting their annual holiday food drive. Reporter Heather Clisby has details …

For almost two decades now, the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club, a community service club sponsored by Twentynine Palms Rotary, has provided local families with a full Thanksgiving meal, including the turkey entree. This year, the club will provide 250 local families with all the ingredients of a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The families have all pre-registered with Reach Out Morongo Basin.

To accomplish this goal, the Interact Club is seeking donations of money and food appropriate for a holiday feast, specifically:

Boxed Roll Mix
Bagged or Boxed Stuffing Mix
Packaged, Jarred or Canned Gravy Mix
Instant Mashed Potatoes
Canned or Instant Sweet Potatoes
Canned Cranberries
Canned Vegetables
Pumpkin Pie Mix

The food will be distributed on Saturday, November 20, from noon until 1 p.m. at Twentynine Palms High School, 72750 Wildcat Way. To donate, contact Club Advisor Lori Cosgriff at 760-367-9591 ext. 2046.
