The Twentynine Palms High School Select Choir came home with several trophies from their performances at the Music in the Parks competition in Anaheim last Friday. The Choir’s performance of “I Loved You” earned them first place in the category of Mixed Choir/Small Schools, with a rating of Excellent. Then, Alexis Hidalgo received the Outstanding Soloist medal for her performance in “Over the Rainbow.” Finally, the Twentynine Palms High School Select Choir was honored with the coveted Esprit de Corps trophy. This is the highest honor given by the Music in the Parks organization. The Esprit de Corps is awarded to the group that best exhibits professionalism, respect, and decorum from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave. Congratulations to the Twentynine Palms High School Select Choir and music director Michael Mayes for their success.
