The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats JV and Varsity volleyball teams hosted the Yucca Valley Trojans last night and both teams came away with the win. The JV team won 25-9 and 25-11. The Varsity team won 25-8, 25-12, and 25-11. The Ladycats are now 4-2 in league and will host Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday, September 22. Varsity will play at 3:15 for a make-up game from August 30 and then play again at 4:30 for the regularly-scheduled match.
JV highlights: Lindie Stewart, Tui Young and Shakinah Dowell each had 2 ace serves. Destiny Cisneros had 2 ace serves and 2 kills. Jadyn Bauer served up 9 ace serves and had 2 kills.
Varsity Highlights: Senior Mya Chacon had 7 digs, 4 ace serves and 4 kills. Sophomore Kyla Palpallatoc had 5 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace serve and 2 kills. Senior N’Taiya Youso had 3 kills. Senior Gianna Bilderain served up 3 ace serves and had 2 kills. Senior Leah Engesser had 1 kill, 1 ace and 1 solo block. Itzel Solorio had 2 kills. Alana Gutierrez had 3 ace serves and 5 digs. Together, setters Kaelina Palpallatoc and Jenica Silvas had 14 assists for the night.
