TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL GOLF AND TRACK TEAMS BRING BACK VICTORIES

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats track and field team traveled to Desert Hot Springs to defeat the Golden Eagles. The Lady Wildcats won 60-56. Coach Ronda Lockett-Morton said Vanessa Walton led the team with 15 points, earning first place in the 400-meter, 800-meter, and 3200-meter races. The throwing duo of Liana Ruiz and Selemara Mapuatuli combined for 16 points. Season Bosch placed second in the 800m with her personal record of 2:49.30.
 
The boys were victorious 73-54, led by freshman Cezar Hueso, who ran a personal record in the 1600-meter with a time of 5:13 earning second place. Eneliko Tuli led the team in points scored with 13 points winning both hurdle races and placing second in the long jump.
 
The Twentynine Palms Wildcats high school golf team traveled to La Quinta on Wednesday to play a preseason match against the Coachella high school Arabs. Coach Gary Bell said the Wildcats came home with a win 248 to 254. Low scores for the Wildcats were Justin Delarosa 43, Manual Purdue shooting 49, Jace Hope with the 49, and Anthony Gutierez with 51. After a loss to Xavier prep school on Monday the Wildcats preseason record is 3 and 3. The league record stands at 2 and 0.
