The Twentynine Palms ASB President, Jarod Burks, is holding a benefit dinner for the Special Olympics Southern California on Saturday, May 23, starting at 7:00 p.m. Burks said, “All of the proceeds from this event will go towards intellectually disabled individuals to help them participate in various sporting events and all of the money raised will stay in the Morongo Basin.” Along with the dinner, there will also be a silent auction. Any business who is willing to donate a gift to be put up for auction or would like to make a monetary donation, should call 760-367-9591 and ask to speak to Derek Keith. Tickets are $20 per person and include a dinner of either chicken or vegetarian option, and speakers will be present to talk about the Special Olympics program. Tickets can be bought from any Twentynine Palms High School ASB student. “I would like to invite the entire community to this event to help support these dedicated athletes.” The dinner will be held in the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat Gym.
