M.E. Wilson Sr., the cross-country coach from Twentynine Palms High School, brought home a gold medal last weekend. Wilson competed in the 2018 USA Open Karate Championships, which took place July 12-15 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Wilson received a gold medal in kata, which makes him a USA national champion. Wilson is now preparing to go to the USA World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in March 2019.
