The Twentynine Palms Wildcats played in the championship game of the Century Elks Hoops Classic Wednesday night. They faced Capistrano Valley Christian high school, the number 2 ranked team in division 5. Coach Kevin Cole said the ’Cats played a great first half against the larger opponent and carried a 2-point lead into halftime. The two evenly matched teams continued to battle in the second half, but after playing some poor defense—and good shooting by their opponents—the ’Cats lost 72-59.
