TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL AWARDED 6-YEAR ACCREDITATION

Twentynine Palms High School has been granted a full six-year accreditation following a lengthy appeal made by the school district. According to MUSD Superintendent Tom Baumgarten, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) granted Twentynine Palms High School a two-year accreditation, instead of a standard six-year accreditation, during its review in 2018. The District appealed the ruling in a special closed-session meeting on November 15, petitioning for a full six-year accreditation. In February, the accreditation board granted the District’s request, extending Twentynine Palms High School’s accreditation through 2024, a full six years with a one-day revisit.
