A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of shooting a gun in the city limits. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor in the 5900 block of La Buena Tierra Avenue heard a single gunshot about 4 a.m. A few minutes later, a deputy detained Rene Barrera, 25, who was found carrying a concealed gun. After an investigation, Rene Barrera was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, with an enhancement of being a gang member. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
