TWENTYNINE PALMS GIRLS WIN FIRST PLAY-OFF GAME

Last night in Richard Casey Memorial Gym, the Twentynine Palms girls’ varsity basketball team won their first-round playoff game in stunning fashion 56-55 over Chaparral High School from Temecula.

Coach Tim Stanford said, “Carveona Garner made the ’Cats’ final points on a three-pointer from the corner, with a deft assist by Kate Bobadilla. Great defense on the final possession sealed the victory.”

Kate Bobadilla scored 25 points, Taylor Scamman scored 10 points, and Gabby Mackall scored eight points.

The ’Cats travel to Burroughs Ridgecrest on Saturday for the second round.
