Thursday night, Twentynine Palms High School girls’ varsity Wildcats finished their regular season with a 51-to-41 win at Yucca Valley High School to raise their record to 20-and-6 overall and 12-and-0 in league. As of the last CIF 4AA poll, the Wildcats were ranked number 6 in a very tough division. The playoffs will start this Thursday at home. With the win, the ’Cats won their 49th league game in a row over 4-plus years. Coach Tim Stanford said the win over Yucca Valley was hard fought and well-earned since the ladies erased an 11-point halftime deficit. Top scorers in the game were Nokomis Cabrera with 20 points, and eight steals, and Lindsey Scamman with 16 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, and seven steals.
