TWENTYNINE PALMS FELON FOUND WITH FIREARMS ARRESTED FRIDAY AFTER FLEEING DEPUTIES

Two Twentynine Palms residents, including a convicted felon, were arrested Friday, February 5, after fleeing from deputies. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies conducted a parole compliance check on Kevin Aide, 28, around 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Morongo Road in Twentynine Palms. During the check, Deputies located firearms and ammunition. As a convicted felon, Aide is prohibited from owning firearms and ammunition. Deputies also learned that Aide had an active warrant for his arrest. Aide was detained by Deputies, but managed to escape with the help of Amanda Juarez, 32, of Twentynine Palms. An extensive area check was initiated and around 7 a.m. Friday, February 5, deputies located Aide and Juarez in the open desert near the intersection of Shoshone Valley Road and Winters Road. Kevin Aide was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, and for his warrant, was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without Bail. Amanda Juarez was arrested for investigation of being an accessory and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $25,000.
