A family is homeless after a fire in Twentynine Palms early this morning. Firefighters from Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and the Combat Center were called to the 72500 block of Sullivan Road at 2:30 a.m. County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Viloria said firefighters arrived to find the attached garage in flames. Viloria said while firefighters kept the blaze from extending into the home or from threatening nearby houses, the home is uninhabitable. An older teenage boy was slightly injured while escaping from the fire; Morongo Basin Ambulance treated him at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
