In anticipation of Project Phoenix nearing completion early next year, the city of Twentynine Palms is inviting downtown business owners to consider a face-lift for their shops or restaurants. The Building Improvement Loan Program is a fund-matching program designed to encourage physical improvements to downtown businesses.
Eligible applicants include those who own or lease a business within the boundaries of the Twentynine Palms Downtown Specific Plan area. Awarded funds must apply to exterior projects only, including awnings, lighting, landscaping, fixed signs and outdoor seating. The 50 percent loan matching program offers a minimum amount of $5,000 and a maximum of $40,000. The payback terms are a 3 percent interest rate over a ten-year period.
To obtain an application, visit the city’s website, 29palms.org, and click on “Building Improvement Loan Application” under the “Development” tab. Any further questions, call City Hall at 760-367-6799.
