TWENTYNINE PALMS CUB SCOUT PACK BEING STARTED

A meeting of parents interested in Cub Scouting for their sons aged 5 to 10 is being held Tuesday, April 14, at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Hall of Little Church of the Desert in Twentynine Palms. Local Scoutmaster Brad White-Fendeisen said Cub Scouting in Twentynine Palms has been limited to an on-base pack for several years. Little Church of the Desert leaders want to make Cub Scouting available to families in the community who don’t have access to the base. At the meeting April 14, parents will be told what is necessary to charter a new Cub Scout Pack, including leadership positions that will need to be assumed and the Cub Master will be introduced. Those who volunteer to assume positions of leadership in the pack will receive training for their positions and , when all positions have been filled with trained leaders, recruiting of primary school aged boys will begin with the first den and pack meetings expected to start in September.
