A Twentynine Palms man and his girlfriend were arrested Thursday after allegedly beating up the man’s mother. The victim called deputies about 8:30 a.m. to say that Patrick Torres, 19, and Sacha Laguna, 18, had beat her up, and then Torres left in her husband’s car. When the deputy arrived and was interviewing the victim, Torres returned. The deputy said Torres began arguing with the victim during the interview, “and for unknown reasons Torres was having a hard time understanding deputy commands and refused to leave.” The deputy then “assisted Torres in leaving the location by transporting him to jail.” Patrick Torres was arrested for misdemeanor resisting arrest, cited and released. Sacha Laguna was arrested on suspicion of assault, making criminal threats, abuse, and being in possession of metal knuckles. She was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $50,000.
