TWENTYNINE PALMS COUNCIL LOOKS AT LIGHTING THE DOG PARK TONIGHT

The Twentynine Palms City Council will have canines on its mind tonight. Reporter David Haldane explains…
Do you like walking your dog at night? It’s a question the Twentynine Palms City Council will be grappling with at its regular meeting tonight. At issue: whether the city should install solar lighting in the dog park it opened last year at Knott’s Park.
Though most dog parks—including this one—currently stay open only from dawn until dusk, some residents have expressed the desire to exercise their hounds after dark. Accommodating them, according to a staff report, would cost nearly $80,000.
Tonight’s meeting gets underway 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
