If you live in Twentynine Palms, don’t throw away your smart phone just yet; your wireless signal may soon be improving.
5 Bars, an Irvine-based provider of wireless master plans and marketing agreements for cities and counties, will be doing its thing for Twentynine. Under a contract approved by the City Council last month, the company will receive 35 percent of the revenues generated by the city’s existing infrastructure in exchange for preparing the plan and implementing a program to market it.
City Manager Frank Luckino praised the agreement for putting the city “in the driver’s seat” in moving towards “advanced wireless technologies.”
