The City of Twentynine Palms holds its annual re-organization meeting tonight. Here with the details is reporter David Haldane…
Twentynine Palms will select a new mayor and mayor pro tem at tonight’s city council meeting. But not until after current Mayor John Cole tells everyone how things are going in the annual State-of-the-City address.
It’s all part of the yearly re-organization meeting scheduled to begin 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road. If the Council follows its usual tradition, it will name MacArthur Wright and Steven Bilderain as mayor and mayor pro-tem respectively.
In other business, the Council will hold the third of five public hearings on how to transition from at-large to district-based elections in the wake of a threatened lawsuit should it choose some other path.
