It is back to business for the City of Twentynine Palms as their City Council will gather tonight for the first meeting of 2021, though these meetings are still closed to the public due to concerns around COVID-19. Reporter Heather Clisby has details…
Tonight, the Twentynine Palms City Council will face two agenda items, the first being the sewer rate fee study and rate-setting process. The issue is related to Project Phoenix and will affect a small number of customers. The council will re-visit the study and likely authorize informational mailings and call for a public hearing in February.
The council will then review their assignments for various regional organizations, such as the Morongo Basin Transit Authority and the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District, and make the appropriate appointments. Members of the council represent the city as board members, committee members and delegates.
Though not open to the public due to COVID-19, tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org. To submit comments or questions, submit an email in advance to [email protected].
