The Twentynine Palms City Council met in regular session last night. Reporter David Haldane says they made getting alternative energy easier for their residents…
Residents of Twentynine Palms will get special low-cost financing for solar panels, heating, cooling, lighting and a host of other energy efficient home improvements under a resolution adopted unanimously by the City Council Tuesday. The resolution allows the city to join the California Home Finance Authority, a consortium supporting renewable energy projects designed to reduce energy or water consumption. The best news is that it won’t cost the city a penny. “This is another great tool for the consumer,” declared Mayor Pro Tem Dan Mintz, who made the motion for approval.
In other action, the Council unanimously approved the purchase of a 4000-D Diesel 58HP lawn mower for nearly $62,000.
