Mayor Steven Bilderain awards Roger Thomas Citizen of the year recognizing his work with the 29 Palms Farmer’s Market.

Mayor Steven Bilderain began by delivering the State of the City address, highlighting various achievements from economic growth to improved roads, as well as the $2 million grant received for Project Phoenix. Later, approval was easily given to adopt all project designs authorizing The VanDyke Corporation, a local contractor, to begin work on the “Project Phoenix Water and Sewer improvements.” The official groundbreaking for Project Phoenix is set for Thursday, January 16 at 2 p.m. Christina Benton of Parks and Recreation was awarded Employee of the year and Roger Thomas was awarded Citizen of the year for his work on the Farmer’s Market. Finally, the “passing of the gavel” marked the election of Joel Klink as the new mayor with Daniel L. Mintz as the new mayor pro tem.
