The Twentynine Palms City Council will consider a variety of issues tonight ranging from selling merchandise on city streets to filling two vacancies on the city’s Planning Commission. Here with more is reporter David Haldane…
Hawking and peddling will be on the table in Twentynine Palms tonight. Specifically, whether the activities of street vendors could potentially interfere with other temporary businesses such as a farmer’s market.
It’s all part of an ongoing discussion by the City Council regarding plans to revamp the city’s business district to attract more commerce.
Other items on the agenda include a mid-year financial report and the appointment of two new planning commissioners to replace outgoing Vice Chair Bud Wiederhold and member Jeffrey Perry.
Tonight’s meeting gets underway 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
