TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT, WE CHECK THE AGENDA

The April 14 meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council starts off with multiple proclamations, including recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the 80th anniversary of the Desert Trail. There will also be a presentation by the Household Hazardous Waste Division of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District. A public hearing deals with an amendment to the development code on California Environmental Quality Act procedures. The Council is also scheduled to act on a recommendation to hire the Ferguson Group as federal lobbyists at $48,000 per year. Of note on the consent calendar is the awarding of a contract for about $350,000 for the construction of the traffic light at Encelia and State Route 62. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in City Hall on Adobe Road.
