Johnson Valley and tourism are up for discussion by Twentynine Palms City Council. Dan Stork has the agenda for tonight’s meeting…
The Twentynine Palms City Council will consider a resolution of support for HR 1676, Representative Paul Cook’s bill that would create the Johnson Valley National Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area. The bill would also limit the expansion of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center into that area. That discussion will be followed by a workshop session on tourism. The session will review ideas that came up in a brainstorming session last week among representatives of the innkeepers in the city, Chamber of Commerce members, and two City Council members. No public hearings or closed sessions are scheduled.
