The August 26 meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council will start with two presentations: one by the Fuller Center for Housing, and the other a federal update by U.S. Representative Paul Cook. The discussion items on the agenda include approvals of:
• bids totaling a quarter-million dollars for the lights at Knott Sky Park;
• a request by the Public Arts Advisory Committee to paint four traffic signal boxes along Adobe Road;
• a $25,000 allocation and a collaboration agreement with the Marine Base and the Chamber of Commerce for “Twentynine Palms Salutes Those Who Have Served” events during Pioneer Days in 2015;
• and an agreement to collaborate with the Chamber of Commerce in hosting a lunch stop for the Great Race in June, 2015.
On the consent agenda are approvals of expenditures totaling about another quarter-million dollars for Visitor Center operations, trucks, road maintenance equipment, and traffic signal design. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
