In this month’s only city council meeting, the outgoing mayor of Twentynine Palms, McArthur Wright, will give his final State of the City address as the council confirms the November 6 election results. There will be a formal seating of councilmembers-elect, specifically: Daniel L. Mintz Sr. of District 3, Karmolette O'Gilvie of District 4 and McArthur Wright of District 5. As city tradition holds, the council will be applying its selection procedure to determine a new mayor and mayor pro tem. The positions will be chosen either by the highest public election vote counts or by nomination and selection within the council itself.

The meeting will also include the introduction of new employees with the Tourism Board and the Sheriff’s Department and a discussion of financial matters.
