TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT

On the consent agenda at tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council, the council will be asked to approve more funds for the traffic light at Lear Avenue. On the action agenda, the council will be asked to approve a $3.7 million contract with the county Sheriff’s Department for fiscal year 2018-19. The council will also be asked to approve a resolution in favor of Prop 68, which will be on the June ballot. Prop 68 is a $4 billion general obligation fund that, if passed by the voters, the city says would provide $200,000 in per capita funds to the city. In addition, if the bond is passed, the city may be able to provide funding for Project Phoenix. Finally, the city will be asked to allocate $5,000 to the Public Art Advisory Committee. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in City Hall on Adobe Road.
