TWENTYNINE PALMS CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT

The agenda of tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council meeting shows some movement on the use of Project Phoenix funds. Reporter Dan Stork tells what else is in store at tonight’s meeting…

The Twentynine Palms City Council will have the annual, pro forma public hearing on lighting and landscaping district #1. The discussion agenda includes: a renewed contract for Vickie Waite as the marketing consultant for the city; purchase of a property at the southeast corner of Yucca Avenue and Twentynine Palms Highway, using Project Phoenix funds; purchase of a pioneer woman statue by Ricardo Breceda, for National Park Drive; hiring consultants for Project Phoenix implementation and for completion of the city development code update; and selecting delegates to the League of California Cities conference. On the consent agenda are the allocation of funds to local non-profits, and the establishment of an appropriations limit, in accordance with state rules. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in City Hall on Adobe Road.
