Tonight, April 26, the Twentynine Palms City Council gathers to tackle a full agenda. There will be two public hearings, the first on the Impact Fee Nexus Study, which may include the elimination of curb, gutter, and sidewalk fees for new projects. The second hearing will introduce an ordinance on adopting the new Downtown Specific Plan and the associated Mitigate Negative Declaration.
The council will consider extending the contract with Southwest Security to patrol locally on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. for $35,100 annually.
Regarding the possibility of a city sewer, the council will review the scope of services of NV5, an engineering/consulting firm, to complete the final design for Phase 1 (trunk and collection) along with Phase 2 trunk lines.
The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, www.29palms.org.
