Tonight’s Twentynine Palms City Council meeting will include a special presentation on Measure O, the school bond initiative. The council will also discuss and make recommendations for Propositions 1 and 2, which both address housing issues.
The City Council will review the request for a two-year extension of the conditional use permit for the 200-unit apartment complex known as “The Ridge at Twentynine Palms.”
Regarding the downtown improvement plan, Project Phoenix, two buildings are slated for demolition: The former Tire Shop on Hwy 62 and the former Hart’s furniture storage building on Smoke Tree.
The council will further discuss a board appointment for the Tourism Business Improvement District and will offer details on a contract for the Highway 62/Adobe Road traffic signal modification project.
