The Twentynine Palms City Council gathers this evening to address a public nuisance property and the widening of a specific section of Highway 62. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…
City council leaders of Twentynine Palms will meet this evening to declare a local fire-damaged property a public nuisance. After much back and forth between the City and the property owner, the City has issued an ultimatum: the property owner must remove all the unsightly junk and trash from the grounds within 45 days or the city will likely demolish the building and clean up the property.
The City Council will review and likely approve a draft letter to Caltrans committing to widening Highway 62 on the north side between Smoketree and Cholla Avenues. The changes are related to both Project Phoenix and the pending construction of Starbucks on the corner of Hwy 62 and Adobe Rd.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Twentynine Palms City Hall on Adobe Rd.
