The Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight to address city business. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details …
Tonight, the Twentynine Palms City Council will kick off the meeting with two contract items. The Council will authorize City Manager Frank Luckino to approve an extension for accounting firm, Roger, Andersen, Malody and Scott to continue auditing services into the year 2020. Also, the Council will officially award a contract for the “2019 Chip Seal Project” to Pavement Coatings Co. for work on one mile of Adobe Road between Two Mile Road and Hwy 62. Up for discussion is Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center’s request to forgo a processing fee of $275 for the merger of three land parcels totaling approximately 15 acres. Represented by Jerry Mattos, the Center is making the request due to the observatory’s non-profit status.
The Council will authorize Mayor Bilderain to submit a comment letter to CalRecycle opposing regulations of SB 1383 that would implement a city-wide organic and food waste diversion program. And finally, the Council will review the Mid-Year 2018-2019 Financial Report to make budget adjustments and consider expenses, such as the addition of a bike path on Utah Trail and landscape improvements.
