Massage parlors, vacation rentals and taxi stands are on tonight’s agenda of the Twentynine Palms City Council. Here with more is reporter David Haldane…
If you harbor feelings about massage parlors, you might want to attend tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms City Council. On the agenda: a proposal to allow licensed parlors to operate in certain areas of the city’s downtown.
Specifically affected are the stretches of Highway 62 from Split Rock Avenue to West Court and along Adobe Road from Buena Vista to Cactus Drive. Currently, professional massage services there are allowed only on an outcall basis.
Also on the agenda is a discussion regarding whether to allow one unit of an occupied duplex to be used as a vacation rental and a zoning amendment allowing taxi stands and dispatch services in certain areas.
Tonight’s meeting gets underway 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
